Kenneth Mikkelsen

Kenneth Mikkelsen primarily advises and represents Norwegian and international business clients in commercial matters and disputes.

As an adviser, he has broad experience in transactions, reorganisations, ownership and regulatory matters, securing and recovering claims, and contractual disputes.

Kenneth has been admitted to practise before the Supreme Court of Norway since 2011. He has acted as counsel in a large number of cases before the ordinary courts and arbitral tribunals and has also served as an arbitrator. He is among the Norwegian lawyers with the most extensive litigation experience in fisheries-related cases, including cases before the Supreme Court.

Kenneth spent 15 years as a shipbroker, working with the sale and purchase of vessels and newbuilding contracts. He subsequently served as State Secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries before spending 23 years as a lawyer and, later, partner at Advokatfirmaet Simonsen Vogt Wiig AS. He joined Advokatfirmaet Østgård as a partner in 2024.

Kenneth served for nine years on the Norwegian Bar Association’s Legislative Committee on Fisheries, Hunting and Aquaculture. He has been recognised by Chambers and Finansavisen as one of Norway’s leading advisers in fisheries and aquaculture. He chairs the boards of several companies and regularly gives lectures within his areas of expertise.
