Bård Utstøl Pettersen

Bård Utstøl Pettersen is a partner at Advokatfirmaet Østgård. He advises on and handles disputes within construction and engineering law, real estate law and corporate law. Bård has extensive experience in construction disputes, directors’ liability, shareholder disputes and legal matters relating to property development.

He advises consultants, contractors, developers and other industry participants, providing strategic and operational legal advice throughout the entire project lifecycle – from planning, zoning and contracting to project execution, final settlement and dispute resolution. Bård has in-depth knowledge of Norwegian planning and building law, including SAK10 and TEK17, as well as key standards and forms of contract used in the construction and engineering industry, including NS 3420, R761, NS 8401–8403 and NS 8405–8407. He also has experience with standard supply contracts such as Orgalim, NL and NLM.

Bård regularly gives lectures and seminars for consultants, contractors and developers, with a particular focus on the practical application of standard construction contracts and the management of contractual issues and disputes in construction projects.
